Fbodfather Talks About "Brother Ezekial"

Not to hijack the thread - but I'm sitting at Detroit Metro Airport in the middle of a snowstorm (heading to Milwaukee for our Camaro Enthusiast event tomorrow morning...)

Decided that I should head out early - (lots of spinouts and such....)

In fact, it is 4:10am........ (.....*yawns*.....)

now - Shaniqua -- whoops -- I mean, Brother Ezekiel - has Ice/snow tires all around - and just as his older brother 'Thor' proved - these cars do very well in ice and snow! (.....I DO feel guilty getting him all covered in salt - but hey - we build 'em to drive....)

As I'd mentioned in previous threads, these ZL1s (at least in my opinion) ride the best of any Camaro we've built over the past 45 years. In fact I was cruising down Mound Road past the Chrysler plant (....even the Hemi Pickups seemed to be trembling just a bit....) -- thinking to myself - "Wow, self -- this rides extremely well even with all of these rough patches - " -- and then I looked down at I realized that the suspension setting was on "Sport" rather than "Touring" --

Did I mention that the ride is quiet at 70mph? (albeit with a bit of 'rumble' from the ZL1 exhaust)

For those of you who will be purchasing one of these legendary driving machines, you're in for a real treat - and it's our intent to exceed your expectations -

My hat is off to Al Oppenheiser, Tony Roma, Mark Dickens, Aaron Wing, Cheryl Pilcher -- (I'm forgetting many names - sorry!) and the entire ZL1 team - bravo, guys and gals.

(......and yes, I'm prejudiced -- you got a problem with that???
)

Ladies and Gentlemen - I can't think of a better time to be a Camaro Enthusiast --

Let "Ultra-Grin" begin!

Fbodfather, since you are the only person that can currently drive a ZL1 and talk about it, ,please keep us informed as Ultragrin sets in. "Brother Ezekial" aka: "EzeBro" - is he an automatic or a manual? Did you get him new? What options does he have? Please keep us in touch as you journey with EzeBro so we can live vicariously through you until our cars are released from the frozen tundra.

Yes, please do keep us as informed as you possibly can (I know you always do), and I hope you're feeling better.

I have to live vicariously longer than most here since I'm waiting for a '13 Convertible, so any tidbits will help ease the wait.

Many members of the Camaro Team are driving CTF ZL1s - we put miles on them to ensure that when you get YOUR ZL1, we've looked at all the tiny details - details that must be right in order for you to be happy with your Camaro.

Mine happens to be an automatic.

I'm but a very tiny cog in the machine that is Camaro. The real heros are Al and his engineering group - THEY are the ones that bring us these magnificent automobiles.

Something to keep in mind: It WILL be more than worth the wait.....I promise.

Although Al, Tom, Cheryl and the others on the Camaro team should be highly commended for designing and producing a truly wonderful vehicle, it is you Fbodfather that is the 'face' of Camaro. The others simply do not spend as much time on the different forums discussing items as you do and thusly we simply do not know them as well as we know you and your tremendous heart and soul love for all things Fbody. So, if you would not mind coming to this thread from time to time and giving us feedback on your CTF, I know we would all love to hear your personal opinions about the car until we are able to receive our own cars and experience it for ourselves.

What a coincidence... my ZL1 is an automatic too. You wouldn't happen to be driving a "low miles" Victory Red ZL1 with 5 spokes & exposed CF extractor would you?

Seriously, I'm dying here & I'd LOVE to put the theory ("It WILL be more than worth the wait.....I promise.") to the ultimate TEST! I went so far as to reconfigure/repave my driveway in an attempt to try & squeeze out as much approach angle as is geometrically possible.

He has winter tires on it and he drove it with no issues in the snowy Detroit area this morning.
