Borla cat back install advice for rookie?

Just ordered my Borla type S cat back exhaust system, and a set of Rhino ramps for my SS. Any good advice to help the install go smooth? It does not "look" too hard?

I just put that set on my car last month. The hardest thing was reaching my big sausage fingers behind the stock exhaust to remove the rubber mounts. I ended up taking the rear diffuser off in order to better reach them. Oh, and make sure you hit them with some WD-40 or Liquid Wrench and sit for a while before you get started. They pop out much easier that way. When removing the stock exhaust, make sure you have enough room behind your car to pull it out. It's 8 or 9 feet long and one piece. I had to pull it out at an angle because of the wall in the garage...and it was up on jack stands so I really couldn't go anywhere....so be warned.
Installing the new set up is extremely easy. Just follow the directions and you should be good. Just make sure you torque everything to spec (I want to say 36 ft lb). You are going to love the sound when you're done. Any other mods going along with this?

I'm getting ready to put my Borla S type on in a week or so. I'm going to cut my stock exhaust pipes. I've heard it will make it much easier to get them out and I don't plan on saving them.

The hardest part is definitely removing the rubber hangers between the stock mufflers and the rear diffuser. This part took me the longest.

I was in a hurry and didn't have time to install my Borlas. I took it to my local mechanic and they did it for $100. About 1-1/2 hrs labor. It's a lot easier when the car is on a lift. You may have to cut the existing pipes to get them completely out since they are one piece and weight about 125 pounds. So try and get it up as high as you can.

As stated the new set should be easy to install since it comes in manageable pieces.

We did it on ramps in my driveway and did not cut the pipes. It certainly would have been easier that way though.

Take your time getting the tips centered. To do this properly it takes two people and a long time. Few things look more sloppy than asymmetrical tips.

Most exhaust systems on cars are not hard. It just takes time, and patience if your not used to working on cars. If you run into a snag and get frustrated, then take a break and have a beer. Then get back to it.

LOTS of WD-40 on all the rubber hangars and you're golden.

Just Cat backs and a K&M filter for now. Bought the car cash so $$ supply is tight for now.

If you don't have any need for the stock cat back, I would cut it. I have limited work space and cutting it made everything a lot easier. And +1 for wd40 the rubber hangers. I ended up using a rubber mallot to tap the hangers off.
