Winter Cure for TLPG (Temporary Loss of Perma-Grin)

After weeks and weeks and weeks of winter weather, the roads were finally dry and salt-free due to a rain storm over the past 2 days....

Pulled Out the SS today, Started the Motor, Roared to life giving me that low and subtle LS3 rumble, literally FELT him come back to life.... (fairly sure i heard "thank you, i've been cold lately)... i muted the radio, and just sat back and LISTENED to the music the car was making.... rubbed my thumb across the SS logo in the steering wheel, and out of nowhere... i chuckled, i couldn't explain why... but i chuckled....

I slowly removed the parking brake, Clutched in,and lifted my foot off the brake, rolled back into the street, shifted to 1st Gear, and slowly removed my foot from the clutch while accelerating. what happened next, reminded me that a camaro is NOTHING like a trailblazer.... the wheels broke loose, the rear end started to hop around... and i started cracking up.... regained my composure, accelerated slower and got on my way....

Pulled into the mall for lunch (parking at the back of the lot where NOBODY was.... the minute i got out of my car a guy getting into his Impala shouted accross the lot "hey are you the valet guy????" i walked closer and said "no, i'm not" he said "so that's yours?" i replied "yes it is, mine" he went on to tell me he loved orange and wished he could have a camaro, talked to me for about 2-3 minutes before he got in his car and drove away and i started walking toward the entrance...

Even when my car is filthy and i'm parked in the middle of nowhere, it still gets compliments.....

Al, John, Scott, Tony, Cheryl, and the rest of Team Camaro..... Thank you for this amazing vehicle!

There are only two options in life. Fight or flight. Most people run. Almost all people run. But not us. The difference between us and everyone else is that we run towards the gunfire. And that makes all the difference.

Mine's been parked since early Decemeber. Only a few more weeks till spring. Just have to wait till the rain washes all the salt and crap off the roads.

Because they love their cars so much they don't want to ruin them. I drive mine everyday and love every minute of it.

Honestly.... theres been some great weather this winter. and i'm not one of those people who puts it in the garage covered if a cloud forms in the sky. I love every minute of driving my car, and want to own it for a VERY VERY long time. I want it to be as beautiful or easily restored to as beautiful as it is now, in 50 years. And to aid that...i avoid salt.... Salt is easily washed off the car, but it gets in little places u would never think of.... door jambs, undercarriage, between other parts..... I hate rust... i don't want to HELP my car rust by gathering salt deposits.

Rain, Snow, Dirt, Mud, doesn't scare me. i just try to avoid salt!

Some of us still have the P Zeroes on, so winter driving is flat out stupid... Winter tires might be in my future, but for now, the SUV is the winter driver...

I haven't driven the Camaro since mid-november. I'm in a little snow belt with a fairly nasty hill to even get out of my neighborhood, and my trusty-rusty 4x4 pickup is the right tool for the job until later this month when the road cleaner crew washes all the sand, salt and grit off the county roads. I'll be driving up the hiway in my pickup wishing I was in the Camaro, then some semi flies by me and throws up a rain of gritty gravel and dust my way. I can hear it hitting my truck and I think to myself that I'd be having an anurism if that happened to the Camaro. I'm happy to wait til the road crew finishes the spring cleaning project.

Yeah, p zeroes aren't fun in snow at all. The camaros pretty fun when you toss winters on. It does get a little old hearing people ask how it's handling in the snow though.
