Question to those close to Vin #900
Hi to those that are around Vin #900 when did your dealer get his allocation for your car? The reason that I'm asking is I plan on driving 5 hours to see my dealer concerning my order of a ZL1. Over the past couple months I have been in contact with and have been assured that I was #1 on the pecking order.
Over the past 5 days according to there website they have a Mettalic Crystal Red ZL1 in transit to there location, with a vin #900+. I made a copy of there website listing the car to bring with me. If I have some dates I can use that as well. MY guess is that thier either getting higher offers then MSRP and selling them for more money. Or buying them from other dealers and having more to place on there lot. As perspective buyers we have no way of knowing the quantities that the dealers have been allocated. Thus were at the mercy of the dealers to be fair and honest with us. Thank you for any info you can provide me.

You should have your order number from the dealer so you can watch the process. Did you not get that? Mine is #879 and was finally produced on 4/26.

That's part of the problem I have no order number and this ZL1 mettalic all of a sudden appears for sale on there website! I would have looked at other locations to buy but I have a non refundable 5K deposit with them.
Thank you for your information I hope to get an idea from several forum readers that have vin numbers between 850 and 950.

I would pay a visit to the dealer and acquire your order number if it exists. Hopefully they have an explanation for you considering your deposit is non refundable.

Thats a very good question, esp since this car suddenly appeared on there website in transit like 4 or 5 days ago. Common sence would say they should have called me like a month or so ago that they can place my order now and what would you like?
My guess is that they had a person willing to pay X amount over MSRP and bypassed me for extra monetary gains. Since they worded the contract in such a way I'm obligated to wait till October of this year before I can get a refund if they can't get me ZL1 by then. Really at this point I'm just trying to get a timeline going on when thts car they have currently on there website was allocated. Then go and see them and find out whats going on. I have not asked for a refund at this point and have been very pleasant with the dealer. The deposit was placed on my credit card and I could go through the credit card company and try and get a credit back to my account. I just want the dealer to up front and communicate and let me know whats going on. I want my car :bangdesk:

You should have got an order number the day you gave them your deposit - even if they didn't have allocation they should still have been able to give you an order number, it just wouldn't have progressed.
They should have placed your order many many months ago for the 2012's. If they can't give you an order number then they have not ordered your car, and it is too late at this stage for a 2012

Well here is more of the saga. Yes originally during the first wave I did have a number waiting like everyone else did back in November. So at that time everything was cool and I waited like everyone else did. Then I get a call like everyone else that he had two allocations available at this time and I was #1. But that if I wanted to order now I would have to go with out the carbon fiber insert. I knew this was true because we were told this on the forums at the time. He said you can either order now or wait for the next round and that he was getting allocated 6 in total spread out over the next 4 or 5 months. He also said they had no other deposites for the car and that there ordering a Black and Ashen Grey to place on there lot for sale. I said I'll wait and hope for the best, still everything is cool with me np at all. Then about 5 or 6 weeks ago I noticed that they had an IOM in transit to there car location. I said to myself what the heck why is that there on there website. They did not call me and give me an order number yet! So I called them about this and they said this was for another customer. Now I'm getting hot under the collar but kept my cool talking with the rep. He said I'll be getting the next one don't worry and I'll call you. A few weeks go by and I call him back and he says I did not want to tell you this but the president of the company is trying to get the original two that were ordered back in Jan changed for me and another early customer. Hmm I said to myself these cars shouls hve already been shipped a long time ago, but I still keep my cool in the hopes that I would get a call back over the next couple of weeks. But i never recieved that call and now I check there webiste and find a crystal red mettalic ZL1 with a vin # around 900 in transit to there location. So I'm like what gives here, thus I'm trying to get a time line of when this car was made. I plan on visiting them and try and get some straight answers about this face to face and not over the phone.

Yes, I agree too that something is not right here - I ordered my car in November last year and was given a Initial order number same day - Dealer told me that he did not have allocation yet, but here's the order number for you to check on at GM Connect -Order was picked up in March 2012 and I had my car in April - All the while I was able to check on progress thru GM Connect - Have a serious chat with that dealer

#958 here, I ordered mine on Jan 26, this also was the day my dealer placed the order (my dealer would not let me order till they had their allocation date) My car now is sitting bayed and waiting for shipment, however my dealers website shows it to be in stock, because they have already been invoiced for it. So even tho it is not here it shows to be...Its kinda a dumb system but that is how Chevy does it..
Good luck |

Did You order the exposed carbon fiber and matching strip? That was holding up orders at one point from the factory.

I would be throwing a fit. That pisses me off just reading about it. Do you have any documentation on anything other than the 5k that they are apparently trying to rob you of? Documentation regarding this non-refundable deposit?
