it may catch a few by surprise, but I don't think that the SS will have much of a problem. Even without the turbo/intercooler they weigh 3900 lbs. I would not be surprised if it exceeds 4000 lbs. The Camaro is no featherweight, but AWD isn't going to be enough for being down 60 hp and up 150 lbs vs the Camaro.

They should be relatively easy to mod, it's a very nice engine to work with as a base to produce some good numbers.
But stock for stock, the SS will have no problems with it.

I think AWD Charger RT's will have their hands full though.

And I'm curious as to how well the AWD system (and transmission) will hold up on the taurus. Does Ford make any other AWD cars globally?

Fusion AWD as well off the top of my head, they've been making several AWD models for years.
Seems cool but a base of $38k for a Taurus is awfully high, it's kind of lame to only offer the SHO package with the top trim IMO. AWD is nice out of the hole but it's going to be down 50 horses and up something like 200 lbs on the SS so it'll be fast but not that fast without getting some work done.

The taurus wil be no competion. Like anything there will be a few that are modded and fast but more than likley it will be some time before anyone really bothers.

No kidding. Didn't they drop the Taurus nameplate because it became synonymous with cheap fleet rental car?

My guess is that it would probably lose in a straight line, but out handle it. I figure 0-60 will be closer to the SS than the V6's, in the 1/4 mile it might split the difference.
