Mojave Mile with Stock ZL1

I am considering running the Mojave Mile in April with my stock 2105 ZL1. Only upgrades are a Roto-Fab CAI and a catch can. Just wanted to get any tips, pointers, concerns etc... from anyone that has had a chance to do this. Thanks

Check all of the obvious fluid levels first. Make sure the lugs are torqued properly and air pressure is normal. Mile runs don't require a long burnout sequence as many have tried hard launches vs easing to the throttle wih little differences in mph at the end. You can't waste time but a dragstrip launch is not necessary for a mile long event. Make your shifts at redline, keep the car pointed straight, and hold on. Over 150mph isn't that scary in a ZL1, feels very composed, and tracks perfectly. You will be suprised how quickly a mile is over & done. The first 1/4 will feel like an eternity in comparison.

Good info. thanks! Any thoughts on what a stock ZL1 will do at 1 mile and at 1.5 miles? This is actually a 1.5 mile run with 1 mile shut down. Any need to tape any seams on the front end?

No taping required. Stock rubber will be the limiter

Just Got Back from the Mojave Mile/Magnum

I ran the Mojave Mile/Magnum yesterday in my 15' ZL1. Only modifications are a Roto-Fab intake. My best run was 168.7 in the mile and 182.2 in the mile and a half. The car felt very composed and connected to the airstrip at these speeds... Love my ZL1.

Wow that's is pretty impressive; 182 mph. When the ZL1 ran Nurburgring it only got to 172 mph down the high speed section which is also about a mile and a half.

I'm jealous, it sounds like you had a blast. Thanks for sharing.

At your horsepower level, you might just disappear and go into another dimension.
