What exactly does this guy do?

This is my first time seeing a Postal Police Officer. I travel roughly 50K miles a year and I have never seen this.

In other words, they keep folks from tampering with the mail. They investigate certain crimes involving the mail, and they escort and protect certain valuable things sent through the mail

we used to have postal police here. but now we have rent a cop.

very few places have postal police. they also might be postal inspectors.

I assumed the Inspector did these things. I never knew but now that I do I want that job, lol.

Watch Alaska State Troopers on NatGeo or whatever channel, there is a guy they've shown that is both a State Trooper and a Postal Inspector. So he looks for a lot of smugglers and what not. They like to smuggle "illegal" alcohol to dry villages through the mail up there.
