From the mouth of babes

So today was my turn to pick up my oldest daughter (7) from the after school program. As we have our light talk before heading into my SS she tells me she had a good day at school and got a 7 out of a possible 10. 1 being a little demon while 10 is a perfect angel. So the mood between us was pretty good and she was very delighted to be picked up in the Camaro as always.

Well I tell her today that our new ZL-1 has made it into the states and was in Michigan. I had asked her if she knew where that was and she replied yes, near grandma in Minnesota. Close, and I'm happy that she's starting to know her geography.

As we start to talk about the ZL-1 she asked who makes the Camaro. I told her that the fine people in Canada make it and have been doing so for a few years. This is when she thinks for a sec, I know she's thinking because she starts to twirl her hair.

When all of a sudden she says,"Daddy, The Canadians make the Camaro and I think they do a great job."

All I could do was smile and say "Yes little one, they do make a great car" I was so proud of my little girl because she knew first hand that this car was something special, and it means a lot in our family.

So, with the closing of one Camaro chapter in our life, we are about to start a new one. I look forward to all the new things my oldest and youngest will experience while we have a Camaro in our family.

I would personally like to thank every person and team member of Chevrolet that makes the Camaro. Thank you for the fun memories I and my family have had so far, with more to come.

Nephew #1 -- who is in his 30s had the opportunity to meet "Bro Zeke" and I gave him a ride when 'Zeke' visited Mars......... He said to me as we got out of the car:

"Uncle Scott - This car is the ultimate in 'Bad-A##ery'...

LOL nice! My daughter loves it when I put it in third while on the highway and hit the throttle. That kid screams so loud and starts to laugh. It just brings a smile to my face knowing she's having fun with me.

The proud feel that Super 60 Mike Judge conveys on this site was backed up by your little girls judgement! She is very intelligent!! You are a good Dad to teach her like that.

Very cool story. Tell her the Canadians love to build Camaros, and she is one of the reasons a good job must be done!

Your story inspired me to post of pic of my 7 y/o daughter, which I took the night I purchased my SS. The photo was taken just moments after I first saw the car. I was so proud when my daughter wanted a picture with the "potential" new Camaro, and explained to her that if the numbers worked out right, we'd drive her home.

She had a big grin on her face while looking at the SS with the Orange stripes and asked me, "Daddy, is it fast?" to which I replied "Yes baby, it's pretty quick". She immediately followed up with, "Daddy, is it faster than Uncle Todd's Challenger?" LOL..., my bro in law has an R/T Challenger and she has ridden in it a few times.

I just told her "yeah, it's probably faster"...for the next couple hours she hung right with me throughout the car buying experience which resulted in just as much excitement for me as it did for her when she first saw it, was glad I took a moment to capture her first permagrin

I'm going to post a pic of my grandson when I can get him together with my ZL1, but I have to tell you a little story. He's only 3 years old. I bought him a Hot Wheels Camaro. I showed him pics of the ZL1. He was glued to my computer screen as I showed him You Tube videos of Camaros drag racing at the track. He is "all boy", if you will.

I returned to visit him a week later. I asked him if he remembered what kind of car I have to show him. He said "A Camaro ZL1"..... I asked him if that was the kind of car he wanted when he started to drive. He said "NO Poppa, I want a Camaro ZL2". I got a kick out of that.
