US vs Metric Display

I took my ZL1 to Vancouver BC today for 20th Wedding Anniversary and after crossing the border I decide to switch the display to Metric.

I got a complete surprise......Everything went metric, the speedo change to kph and the needle jumped to my actual speed in kph, doing 110 kph, the average fuel mpg changed to liters/100km.

This was totally cool and something not expected. I just figured the HUD display would show the KPH.

I just had to take a few minutes and post this as I have seen any post related this.

The Navigation turn by turn also changed to metric and gave turn direction in meters.

Nothing to see here people... move along. lol.

Been there done that but the other way around (going from metric to imperial). Glad they have the HUD cause I can't see the small MPH markings.

Yep, it changes quite a few things. I was surprised too when I switched to imperial a couple of years ago in my Escalade.

you mean standard right? The US uses the "standard" measuring system. Which is kind of random because we're the only country that uses it.

Never heard it called standard. Heard it called United States customary units. Its weird that most of the world uses Metric, the science fields use metric, yet the US does not? Very weird, the whole system is just weird and inherent to inaccuracies and mistakes(calculations, etc) Although 0-60 sounds better then 0-96.5 lol

Sorry gmgdave did not intend it to come across as such. But we did open up a healthy discussion on whether the US is on imperial or standard measurements. I agree the first time you notice this (whichever way you're switching to) you go... whoa, cool.
