ZL1 catback?

I'm looking into the installing the rear bumper from the ZL1 onto my SS... My question is are the catbacks the same on an SS and ZL1?? I currently have no catback, so I would want to put the piping and zl1 mufflers on my SS.

im almost dead sure youre not going to be able to do this because of the valves on the new ZL1 exhaust, but I could be wrong. Im just shooting from the hip

For now the ZL1 exhaust is showing as a 1-piece unit

Did the ZL1 diffuser fit on your SS ok or did you have to modify the bumper? Someone was saying that it wouldn't fit the current SS bumper.

I have not ordered my rear diffuser yet, but found on another thread that it is an exact fit.

There are many remote controlled kits on the market that will allow you to open and close the valves. Some corvette owners use them.

Well the SEMA 1LE had the ZL1 catback. So I would say yes, but we will have to wait to get a measurement on the size of the pipes for it to be official. All you would need is a dual mode exhaust controller to manually open and close the vents. I don't know if its possible to rig up a vacuum system with non-ZL1 cars.

2SSRS is correct GM has them available but no price listed yet.
22874269. My guess is it would be in the $2000.00 price range

If you look at the video, http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=197492
From 42 sec to 47 sec it looks to me like the pipe is 3" and goes down to 2 1/2" after the rear end.

May just get a custom worked exhaust with electric cut outs, mufflers and quad tips welded to fit the diffuser... Probably a lot cheaper that route

Haven't seen any updates on the pricing for the ZL1 exhaust. So here's one.

Radrace was pretty close. 22874269 list price is $2256.39

Gmpartsdirect.com will ship it at your door for $1720.87. Shop around, you may can get it cheaper somewhere else.
