Nits and Lice
If one orders the full sized spare tire option, where does it fit?
Is the tire sealant and inflator a reasonable option to a spare either full sized or space saver? What is the Black roof ditch? "Hood blanket with debossed Chevy Bowtie? What is a hood blanket? What is the tire pressure monitoring system? Thanks |

the full size spare i do not believe IS an option... and yes unless you have a complete tire blowout you should be just fine.
the black roof ditch molding is the black molding on the sides of the roof that help shed water I have no idea what the hood blanket is and the monitoring system is a system within the cars computer that actively monitors the tires presure it will display this in the display on the dash... it will alarm if any tire drops 10psi below the others. |

Thanks for the info
I was afraid the tire pressure monitoring system was this option on the Chevy Camaro build your own site that are valve stem covers with a little area in the caps that goes red or green depending on pressure-fairly Mickey Mouse.
On my contract it says" Hood blanket with debossed Chevy Bowtie". That's where that came from. Also, a full sized spare is an option. I imagine it fits in the floor of the trunk. Thanks again |

The hood blanket is the material on the underside of the hood. It is a sound insulator. It has the Chevy bowtie embossed into it. It is visible in many photos on the site

if you want a full size spare, would you make it a full size front spare, or rear?

That's why the 19" is a better deal, all four are the same I think. And I would get the spare if I got the V6, there are a lot of cases when the tire sealant thing is not going to work.

If i'm not mistaken? The full size spare is only available on non-SS models, even with the 20" wheel option. The Brembos won't accomidate the spare tire.I have a 1Lt/RS with the full spare and i ordered the 20" polished wheels.

The spare tire option IS NOT A "FULL SIZE" spare, it is your typical "temporary" mini doughnut type.
Also to clear the V6 brakes, it has got to be at least a 17" size rim, so it is not as "MINI" as on other cars. One concern for V6 "Manual Transmission" buyers ... Hopefully o/a spare dia. is close to std. tire dia. (28.6") other wise putting it on back you will be putting excesive wear on the LSD clutch pack. To avoid this, you could put the spare up front 1st then swap the good front to the back. Doug |
