Odd 2010 vs 2013

Or could be L99 vs LS3. My old car I would get out of her and you could feel the heat powering out from under her. Also very hot under the hood. My LS3 is not hot and I can work on the motor after about 30 minutes of her sitting. My old car oil temp was always 220-230. New has only hit 200, not even the center hash mark. Also old car but being an auto I would expect this tranny temp around 190-200. My LS3 has never even gotten close to 185.

What are you guys seeing with your cars?

When it gets above 280, start paying attention to it. Any other reading is whatever it will be.

Often they mess with where the center of the gauge is, because of the mindset of center is normal and peoples have a tizzy of seeing a gauge over center. Some are 200 some are 220....

When I worked at a dealership, there were tons of times where people would complain about oil temps.... a lot of time was wasted.... nothing was ever wrong. The oil temp will be whatever it will be depending on driving conditions. People would complain about Corvettes getting the oil real hot... guess what, that is exactly why they require synthetic. Chevy even built in a warning message above 285ish.

My supercharged L99 never gets over 220* no matter how I drive it.
