With all the crap GM is in, if you've noticed, the new commercials have all their cars in one. With the way the camaro is selling, I would be surprised to see a commercial, or any advertising spent on just one car for some time.

I see your point but i also think they aren't highly advertsing them because they already know that right now they still have all the preorders and cars stuck in QC to get out to people. I feel like they will advertise more once these cars are more readily available, but thats just my opinion. I mean right now a big ad campaign wouldn't do much good if people can't get there hands on the car. Sometimes one commercial can go a long way and all great ideas have to start somewhere.

You'll want to find out who is in charge of Marketing and Communications within GM... looking for a Directory level, no higher. That and GM is going to be using an Advertising Agency.... that might be harder to figure out, but the answer to your question lies with these two entities.

That said, ideas that are not protected might as well be public domain. If you have no prior art, no service mark or trademark protection, and no copyright... you have no chance of them saying "dude, thanks here's some cash.."

Best bet - do it all yourself, with handheld cameras and friends for actors... then, go viral and put it on YouTube, MySpace, your own website, here, etc. Best bet is GM sees it and reaches out to you.... along the way, you've created prior art and a level of protection for yourself.

One of every color instead of silver.

No offense to silver it's great just Chevy uses it in every ad. Does not make the car stand out. Makes it like a Malibu or a truck commercial.

Needs to be lot of ABM, IOM, Red's yellows, CGM etc then then silver can be allowed to make a brief appearance in the commercial.

GM is not going to buy an ad. If your a fan you'll make a free one. Look in the video and pic section.

There is no advertising money outside of the people and programs they already have.

This car is gonna make it on word of mouth not launch events or commercials.

One way, that costs you almost nothing, is to fully document your idea.... described it with words, draw little pictures, anything you can think of to show what your thinking on paper. Then, makes a couple of copies. One to keep, others to mail it to yourself and a friend or two, never to be opened as the sealed/postmarked envelope becomes your date of proof. This is otherwise known as a poor-man's copyright, not foolproof but better than just saying "I had that idea first!". If you can combine all this with some actual footgage, that won't hurt.

Here's the thing though. You can bet that GM owns the copyrights, SM's and TM's to anything and everything they care about... or that you would potential reference or use in a commercial. This means they could ultimately cease/desist anything you make/create... or legal cease/desist you from making/creating anything related to or impacting their protected assets. This would lead you back to the court of public opinion... meaning, if you had a viral *and* positive thing going without GM, they'd be stupid to put themselves in a bad light publicly.

Keep in mind that I am not an attorney. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Vash I'm not trying to make a quick buck, I mean the camaro I have on order is being paid for in full by me. I just woke up with this idea and in my head it seems really good. I mean the way i look at it is they are paying someone somewhere for ideas and if mine is one they think would help them sell more cars why wouldn't they be interested. I have no doubts this car will sell itself and transformers will sell it too, but there is no such thing as selling too many cars. I might be off in left field and my idea might be dumb but to me right now it isn't.

But they have no money boss. They had to borrow 4 billion last night to keep payroll going and lines open.

Good idea. Timing... bad. Severe recession.

I guess some people just are not feeling the paint or realize what's going on. It's BAD out there. 1600 (crysler too)dealerships closing across the country. 300 in Canada.

The pain just started.

Well thats true economy in general does still suck. Before I willingly left my job our hours got cut back form 8 hr shifts to 6 hrs and a total of only 35 a week, and that was a retail job where you needs to doors to be open.
