But how far down does it go when you put it down? Mine new top stays up a little too high for the tonneau cover to go on. The mechanic says
"theres no room for height adjustment" After 10 days, no rub marks, but I want this thing to set farther down in the well.. Last edited by classicrockr; 06-23-2012 at 08:30 PM. Reason: spelling |

That's not right.... should sit deeper in the well.

I agree, and the rail sticks up too much. Go to a different mechanic.

To just say there's no height adjustment and that's the way it is, is just plain wrong. There is something incorrect with that install. |

Not wrong. My 2012 that was built on 4/4/12 looked the same when I got it. It has since settled down a bit in the well. I believe this was part of the redesign also. The angle at which it sits.

That is correct. An engineer at the Camaro plant told me that it can take a few weeks for the new tops to settle in. The material needs to stretch.

I would think it would have to set down enough over time, so that the cover could be put on. |

No, I didn't "forget to mention that".
I'll give it a few weeks. I wonder though, are they telling all the people who are buying new cars (that have the redesigned top) that they won't be able to use their tonneau covers until it "settles in"? According to the dealership, I'll be getting an extended warranty (60k) on the top; it will be coming in the mail in the next 2 weeks. Last edited by classicrockr; 06-24-2012 at 09:12 AM.
