did you have to make a deal

So before you got your camaro, did you have to make some kind of a deal with your other half/family in order to get your car or was everything cool, just said I'm buying a camaro and that's it?

My money, did my research. Jumped right in when I found the one that was priced well and had all the features I wanted!

Well, since it's HER car, lol. She didn't ask me, but I get to take care of it... and drive it occasionally. And I'm fine with that

My "other half" (boyfriend) told me it was irresponsible and a waste of money to get a new Camaro, that I'd never actually do it and that it'd be a stupid decision. (Maybe I should note that he wanted a new Camaro but could not afford it...)

So because I wanted to be stupid, irresponsible and wasteful, I went and signed the paperwork the next day

I was single at the time when I bought mine. Only regret (sometimes) is trading in my truck for it. I had a beautiful teal green 2008 silverado with all the options. Loved that truck and I only paid 24,000 out the door for it. It was the last 08 on the lot, GM had some specials and since I used to work at the dealer they gave me employee discount on top, so I paid 24,000 for a 37,000 dollar truck.

When I traded it in they gave me 24,200 at the same dealer lol so I made 200 bucks driving the truck for 2 years. Still kinda miss it though.

My other half is officially banned from dispensing any vehicle purchasing advice, so it was a short discussion and mostly smiles and agreement. (He picked up one of the first B8 S4's to hit the West Coast, and it wasn't cheap!)

My wife made me trade in my Prelude :(. She said we didn't have a need for three cars for only two people, especially when two of the three cars only have two doors.

Yup, negotiated for quite a few months before we actually started shopping. He thought I should have a practical car, I wanted fun. We both agreed NOTHING with 4 doors, so that alone limited the options.

I've been lusting after Camaros for too many years to count, so I had worn him down to at least agreeing to test drive one before we even left home. Once we drove everything with 2 doors, we both agreed the Camaro was a pretty nice ride. The only sticking point for hubby was the rear wheel drive in the winter. After all this is Minnesota, and this was supposed to be my daily driver. He was NOT going to agree to let me commandeer his truck for 3 months just because I wanted an impractical winter car.

So we compromised, I would get good winter tires, and after the roads were plowed I WAS going to drive this car in the winter. His truck would be for those super snowy days or if I had to get somewhere before the road crews went through.

Pretty happy at the moment, but this is subject to change come January.
