Need Help, I Can't Make Up My Mind on stripe color - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey everybody,

Been reading for a few days, love the site, this is my first post.

SO yeah, I love the new Camaro and want one dearly.

I went by the dealership and as fate would have it, somebody ordered one ALMOST IDENTICAL, to the "dream sheet" I had built up online. The only difference was a different color stripes, and no ground effects. Both are dealer options so no big deal there.
Best part, it "should" be at the dealer in 30-45 days.

Here is my problem though.... I can't decide what to do.

It is the Imperial Blue Metallic, with white stripes.

I dont want white stripes.

I want black stripes........... OR DO I??

On the website the wheels on the RS package look black, and that with the black (really dark gray) ground effects kit, I thought it would look nice to have the black stripes too.
It would be a subtle thing. It wouldnt be screaming out from across the parking lot "hey I have rally stripes", but once you walk a little closer, or in bright lite, it would pop out at ya.

If I went with white or silver stripes, I think the Dark Gray/black ground effects kit would not really go too well.

What do you all think?

How would the black stripes on such a dark blue car?

Would it make for a nice theme to have the dark blue paint, with flat black stripes, so-dark-gray-its-almost-black stripes, and then the dark wheels (that I may replace with black down the road).

From what I have seen on here, you all have some great taste in what looks good, so I hope yall can help me decide what would look better.

I know the midnight silver wheels look almost black on the build site but they are not. Here are what they look like.. #2. How about the CBM stripes on that

I like the way it is .. although yes the build site is very misleading when it comes to the rims .. they are gray but it will still look great how it is... you should order the car and if you dont like it, you can always go aftermarket ... Especially with that delivery time? why pass that up lmao ORDER NOW!!!!

Yeah I put the deposit down today. I definitely want the car.

I just hate to spend 400 somthin bucks on a set of black stripes that you wont be able to see worth a sh!t, or just wont look worth a sh!t anyway.

You could always have the stripes added later.

So, are you saying that the person that ordered the car backed out of the deal?

Yea, plus the ground effects are not painted, so your getting flat black plastic added to the car that you have to dish out more money to paint. Also, the midnight silvers are deceptively dark on the chevy site. I would equate them to the polished silver with break dust.

Yes, Somebody went to the dealer and set "i want a camaro with such and such specs"

That same individual then came back and said "I changed my mind, I dont want/cant get a camaro"

Then I came in, and said, "sweet, I'll take his car since he doesnt want it now"

Since the ground effects won't be painted, I would tell them to keep the stripes, and not to install the ground effects.

Then I would head over to my favorite custom shop, have the ground effects painted to match, and installed.

I would then wait on the stripes until I was pulled in one direction or the other, and have them Painted and Cleared.

Of course being a fan of Black, that could even turn into a mild Ghost Flame job!!
