help wiring my radar detector and footwells
I found the link to the DIY for the footwell lighting. No problems there, Done. I need to wire my radar detector in now-I want to use the same 12v source in the drivers side fuse box that I am currently using for the oracle footwell lights.
With that said, should I tap into the 12v power source before the inline fuse I made (for the radar detector)and add another fuse? OR, can I tap into the 12v power line just passed the radar in-line fuse and not worry about not adding another fuse- would it be too much to run the radar detector and the footwell lights through the same power source and same fuse? It would be a much cleaner install if I could just tap the power source aft of the fuse I already have-but is it safe? Just trying to figure it-don't know much about electrical current. Thanks for the help.

You're fine with one fuse. The light and the radar detector draw maybe 1 amp. You can have both of them on the same circuit.

You cant beat the ease and installation using an Invisicord and tap the mirror power. It's what I use and clean install. No need for any fuse with this, 3 years works perfect.
