Is there a way for me to get a HUD for my 2LS because they dont come stock on them

Unless you have lots of time, lots of $$$, the right tools and lots of mechanical ability, don't even think about trying to install a HUD system yourself. It's not something the average backyard DIY mechanic should sttempt.

Not so sure about that...took me (65 yr) and a 19 year old kid 8 hrs with lunch break, and $550...to do on my 2010 2LLT. lots of diy's here...and people to help you in case.

I beg to differ on your above statement. It cost me under $500.00 to have the HUD installed in my 2010 2LT/RS, and this includes the HUD, Nuts, Bolts, Switch, Wiring Harness, Gas, and Food. The time it took was two 50 year old guys from 8 AM to 3 PM with a 45 minute lunch break in between. This was also the second HUD install done on the Southwest region. There are also over 49 Camaro owners that have done this Mod.

First of all, if you go to this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93729
and add up all the costs involved with JUST buying the necessary parts for the HUD, it comes to $793. The prices stated in that thread are list prices, so if you got them all for less than $500, then you got a bargin.

Secondly, my hat goes off to you and all the DIYer's that have done this install. And if you and a helper did it in less than 7 hours, then I envy your knowledge and abilities. I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined, but I personally would not try this. Without knowing the original thread posters abilities, it's not something for the average Joe to try, even with help.

My HUD install was #9, with the help of Ofer, WCoolBreeze, and others this is the best mod I have done to the car. Hell, I bought the kit before we even knew if the dash had to come out (what was I thinking) anyway there's is alot more information out there now then there was in the early weeks of this mod.

Now cost wise I don't think it was that much but it's been 20 months. My mechanical abilities, I was a Helicopter Crew Chief in the Air Force and have done some tinkering with cars but no way an expert. If you can read diagrams and follow instructions you can do this mod. Time wise, did the Mod by myself and took me about 11 hours.

I purchased the hasrness from 2SSRS (Ofer) and the rest of the parts were purchased from Patrick at GM Parts House. Patrick actually set up a packet/package for those wanting to install the HUD that included everything except the harness.

I did mine completely by myself in the garage. The only non standard tool I had to buy was a craftsman rotary tool to make the cut easier.

It really isnt that hard just time consuming.
