Headlight removal problem

So my driver side headlight won't come out..

Those of us with 98-02 camaros probably know that the headlight is held in with just one bolt, It's not that which i'm having a problem with.

The little bracket on the headlight which the bolt screws into is where I'm stuck. There is a little metal piece inside there with threads that has broken free from plastic surrounding it. There's my problem, while I'm trying to unscrew the bolt the threads are spinning with the belt so I can't get the headlight out at all

I've tried a few things, PB blaster, pulling and prying, and trying to hold the metal piece still but nothing. Anyone have any ideas or fixes for this?

here's a picture of the piece for those who don't know what i'm talking about

I had that problem as well but I was able to get some pliers and hold it. Then just replaced it with a new bolt and nut to hold it.
