AAC switchback help with 2SS/RS

I've read quite a few posts about switchbacks but can't seem to find the answer and/or the answers don't fix my problem.

I have a 2011 2SS/RS and purchased a set of ACC switchbacks. What I want is for the switchbacks to be on (white) when the halos are on. I realize the RS model only has 2 wires in the harness so I put in a 3rd wire pulling power from the halos. I then added the load resistors across the turn signal wire and ground. When the lights come on--beautiful--nice white all across.

Here's the problem. When I turn on the blinkers the switchbacks stay white and blink amber--you can barely see the amber. I know these can be made to blink only amber when you turn on the turn signals, but I can't seem to get it to work with my car. Can someone please help?

You need some kind of relay with the aac switchbacks. I bought them first and couldn't get them to work. Tossed them in the trash and bought vleds and no problems. Vleds are way brighter as well and have I guess the relay built in to them. Type 2 is the one I used from what I remember

We sell them combined with the inline resistors....they should be installed like this.

Hope this helps, lemme know if you need anything!

That is correct but the AAC switchbacks don't switch color without a relay. They flash both led's at the same time when blinker is applied.

Agreed. I see what you are asking.

Yeah, if you want to separate the white from the amber, you'd have to install an inline relay.

I've never taken a switchback apart so one of the AAC Techs might actually need to jump in here and answer that part for ya.
