DIY: Painting a ZL1

Did this for a club member, Robert and Nora. Mini 1/64 scale Hot Wheels car this time. Went from red with chrome wheels to IOM with custom CFM, Carbon Flash Metallic for carbon fiber hood insert and gloss black stripes to match owners car, a 2012 IOM ZL1 stick. Blacked out wheels to match factory and did interior and grille in gloss black.

Process I took was scuffed up car, etching primer, sanded w/ 600 grit, 4 coats base IOM, laid down 2 coats flat black on stripes, 1 coat over hood of CFM than two coats of clear. Only bummer is had an issue with masking, again... lol So hard to mask stripes and got a little overspray. Did match the custom stripes width and look perfectly!!!

Some day I will be great at painting, but hopefully not just toys
