APR Splitter

Anyone in here with the APR splitter? Considering it for mine. Was curious on the quality? reliability? (How's it handle under speed)

curious on this too. Hesitant on drilling holes in the front bumper for it though. It supposed to create more downforce..

Don't you also need the front support struts? Don't they hold it in place as well?

I've got it on my car, but of course I don't have a Camaro. I've sold about 5 that we've installed here for guys who bring it on the track. When first got everything done I was worried about reliability as well until the owner of APR told me that recently he had a splitter installed on one of his customers cars and doing about 120MPH on the track he hit a big orange cone and the splitter was totally fine. I sell a good handful of these though, no complaints. It's a thick carbon fiber, it's not thin, so it does NOT bend just by torquing it around in your hands.

I've banged it a few times here and there, no cracks, no nothing, just some scrapes under neath from time to time but even hitting it on a curb, no issues with it breaking, it's a solid piece but you wont know that until you actually have it in your hands.

As far as quality goes, you can easily tell a companies quality if they're actually used in racing applications, in which they are. They're used in competitive time attack, they're used in drifting, they're used in a lot of different applications.

Awesome!! This is exactly the answer I was looking for. How is the installation?

I actually didn't install the lip on THIS car, but I have installed it on a few other cars before. It's not extremely easy, you for sure would need a lift or at least some significantly big ramps to get under the car. It's a huge piece, it's not just aesthetic, it's functional so it goes under the car a pretty decent amount, so it's not just a double side sticky tape and stick on kind of job:

Requires you to drill holes and bolt up to the bottom of the car, but for most people that's not too annoying to do.

This thread got dirty really quick. Yes I have banged it a few times , but primarily going up driveways, on a curb once while making a u-turn, that hurt my pride more than it hurt the lip which actually didn't budge at all, no cracks or damage.

What about the supporting struts? Do they come with it? How are they to install?

Yep, comes with the struts like you see in this picture:

The installation guide that it comes with, I have to say is relatively generic, but the biggest portion of the install is bolting it up underneath. It lines up very nicely with the front edge of the bumper as you see in the picture. Obviously for anyone who isn't comfortable with installing parts should always bring something like this to a performance shop who deals in this sort of thing (we can do it here of course if you're local), or a body shop.

Yeah sure thing, PM coming.

Oh and just a heads up as well those considering this as well, it usually takes 5-7 days to build one so just keep that in mind there's usually a small delay before it ships out.
