100 octane?
I am going to the drag strip this Friday and was wondering if 100 will be to high to run in the car? Has anyone put more than 93 in theirs without throwing up any codes? I know you can't run 110+ with cats.

If your car isn't tuned for 100 your just pissing money away. At best, it may cut down on some knock that the heat will cause. Either way you won't through any codes. It's the leased fuel that hurts the cats, not the octane.

Yeah I kinda figured it might be a waste. I'm just gonna run it the way it came from GM and hope I can do better than some of these high 12 second times!

5 gallons wouldn't hurt, or a can of Torco, especially in the summer and when using pump gas. Problem being you never know what is really coming out of the pump. If by chance you get some shitty gas the gd gas would balance it out. I just wouldn't want to see you pump dump in $250 of race gas and expect to shave a second of your time.

A 50/50 blend of 93 and 100 Octane will be 97 octane which is a good octane for preventing knock in hotter weather and keeping the spark in the high octane table. Make sure to get unleaded. Do not run leaded race gas.

I think I will put in just 5 gallons when I get to the track. I'm already bummed about the weather. The forecast for Friday is 90 with high humidity!

Your ecu should adapt slightly but it is better to be tuned for 100 or more... Just don't use leaded as it will kill your 02 sensors and clog your cats... Try to find MS109 or Sunoco GT260... Here is a link to a fuel finder for Sunoco GT260 at the pump... You can trust the quality if you get it from one of these stations...

Every new GM car I have owned from my 86 T type to my 01 WS6 has ran faster with a little more octane in it. I think that the octane helps with any knock you might get and when it knocks it pulls timing. Good luck and have fun.

This would be the only benefit a stock car will see.
