There is a bunch of us that installed it. Works great. Funny I never closed the baffle yet since I installed it. I thought the drone would be too loud on the highway but actually it is not bad at all.
There is a good thread here. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=245093 |

Unlike the Vette... There is really not much of a difference on the Z since it's open at idle and a lot of other times as well. Just introduces a little drone on the highway. Not worth $89 IMHO.

see my post in the DIY $25 is all it cost to add it. I am not sure it is worth it stock. I did it becaseu i am going to add headers and that may introduce more drone at somepoint.

If you're never planning on closing the baffle, then you can simple pull the fuse which will leave the baffle open all of the time and save the $89.

Yup... my total cost was $20. Have it programmed into my Homelink buttons so no need for remotes.

Then with this car you're going to want headers... Pulling the Fuse doesn't really do that much.

one more though I had if money is more an issue for people than labor you can use that same fuse tap to a toggle switch if you are will to run wires up to the consol.
I used the remote setup that MLEE pointed me too because I just did not feel like running the wires for the $13 it cost to buy the unit. there is also a way to do a three position switch to force the flapps closed once you have headers or exhaust mods to give you 3 stages of sound so to speak wich I may do once I istall the headers if I decide to go catless.

Just pull the fuse. Free mod.

Works great, and better than pulling fuse, because on a long drive you might want to turn off the drone, cause it is there. Just not too bad.

On a second note I am pretty pleased with the exhaust sound of the car. It is loud enough without being annoying and has a good rumble. |

Ok you have my attention on this one. I had headers and a cam done to my ZL1 and it sounds great, but I would also like to be able to tone it down some in the neighborhood, or when I want to hear the music in the car. Can you send me a pm about this three position switch, for the mild to wild unit. I was thinking of purchasing the unit with the hopes of it having that ablilty, thanx.
