check engine light disables remote start?

installed my headers and exhaust and after a day the check engine light is on, i was expecting that, but heres my question, my car will not remote start now that it has the code. is that normal? its a factory remote start integrated into my key (hit lock twice and then hit and hold the arrow button) and it usually starts. but now it wont since the code came up. is that normal? im getting in tuned next week so will this correct that?

It's a safety feature, when the check engine light is on remote start is deactivated

Mine did the same because of the EGR vent solinoid, I only have to hit the lock button once and the start button once and it fires up, the 2 to 1 thing is only a myth, I tried it on a 14 2SS (1 to 1) and it fired up as well.

I think the tuner can shut down the light so it doesn't come back. It's for the O2 sensors.
