Cool Things to Look For ?

Hi Guys,

i am finally close to purchasing my very first [ 5th Gen ] 2010 2SS Camaro .

And i would just like to know what should i look out for when i go to look at it again .

so far I've done the following :

1) inspected the car for scratches [ it has few that can be easily removed ] , and it had a tiny paint chip on the rear bumper .

2) Car history is being processed by the dealer through the VIN number , but as far as i know the car has not been through any accidents - Knock on wood - .

3) it has 36K miles on it .

4) beside that the car is spot less [ from my prospective ] , but i would like to know what are the things i should be looking out for , since i have yet to test drive it .

Plus the car owner really took care of the car , and it's his baby i guess .

ill upload few pictures . [ i apologize for the low quality camera pictures ]

P.S : in the 5th picture i noticed there is a Paint Crack in the Front bumper , so i believe its not the bumper as it is dent free , so what should i do to fix that ??

My goodness that car is beat to hell. With that many scratches and bumps I doubt the owner took very good care of it like you said...I can only imagine the pain of those 36k miles. I'd pass on this or not pay a cent over 26k for it. You're looking at 2 grand in repairs for paint and rims there.

Car was treated like it was a Toyota Corolla. A driver, nothing more.
Careless treatment might reflect lack of maintenance.

What are they asking? I mean the dings can be fixed it's just something to think about. A good price for that car though would be 26-27. Nothing more.

36k miles is a lot for a 2010. I would only consider it if it had less than 20k miles

All depends on the price. But I would agree the external condition is a good indicator of how it was maintained.

Edit: just noticed your location. No idea what they run or what the avg condition is Bahrain.

12k per year is a lot? Pretty standard to low for a dd.

thats what i thought when i saw the car , dings can be fixed and it hasn't been through any kind of accidents , also the guy usually use it for weekend driving .

Price wise , he is asking for 33k , but I'm gonna get it down to 26-27k easily .

20K miles is a bit tough to find here in bahrain , only if the car was a garage queen

i believe that 26-27K is a good price for it , and no more ... the average condition will is kind of hard to tell , but given the mileage and the few scratches and the accident free record , that's why i got excited .

i've been searching for the past month now , and by far this is the most promising car i've seen , all the other had major dent's/scratches and all kinds of neglect

Yes. In one and half years I've put 9,800 in my Terrain. And yes its my daily driver.

You and I put about the same mileage on our dd's, and that is about 3 years worth for my wife's dd - but I wouldn't have a problem picking up a used car that avg'd 12k per year. That excludes when I purchased my Corvette's - I only looked for weekend cars.
