Talking Cam milage

For all you cammed guys, how many miles did u have wen you got cammed? I've got 2300 miles on my SS and got my mind on the JRE rough idle blower cam for a whipple later on, tryna see wen a good set point is to kill the warranty for my guilty pleasure haha

Just under 4,000 when mine went in. Just hit 15,500 and not a single problem. Added a few things since then too.

I was at 12500. I waited that long more because of the money and just getting to the point of knowing for certain it was what I wanted to do vs waiting for the right amount of miles. I wouldn't worry about 2300 miles if you are ready in all other ways ( money, what cam kit, which shop/tuner to use etc.) then go for it.

Sounds like nobodys had any problems at any milage! Lol did all you change out your oil pump or is it still stock? I've had no problems at all with my camaro but don't want to be modding it then all of a sudden sumthin goes wrong n no warranty early milage

Since your going in there might as well upgrade.

The oil pump topic causes a lot of chatter. I went with my shop's advice. They are LS specialists with cam installs a bread and butter part of their business. They strongly recommend the Melling hi-vol pump. I saw no reason to disagree.

My install was at roughly 6K and with zero issues. Voided about a year of my power train warranty which will expire soon. Wish I would have done it the day it left the dealerl

38k then, 59k now. Stock oil pump...all is well.

30k on mine and 39k now with stock pump. Did break a rear driveshaft bolt though!
