Bird poop stain?

My father and I got the car used and we noticed this stain that will never come off. I've been reading about bird poop stains and I've come to believe it is one. Is there anything specific I can buy to remove it if possible? Certain brands of products I could buy at any auto parts store? Thanks.

Have you tried claying it? It looks like it's on the paint so if it is, clay should help. If it's etched into the paint, you will have to polish it out

I haven't clayed it, what exactly does that mean? It is on the paint. It's been there since we got the car more than a month ago and it's really been bothering me.

Go up to it, can you feel it with your finger? Like its just baked on or is it perfectly smooth and that's etched into the paint? If it's something that's baked on, go to any auto store and go to the car detailing section. You will find something called a clay bar. Just buy the cheapest one you can find since all clay is made by the same company. Go back to that spot and spray some detail spray or clay lube (some clay kits come with lube) and rub the clay over it.

Yeah I can feel it, I'll visit an auto store later today when I am free. I'll post pics of it after. Thanks buddy.

Make sure to use plenty of detail spray or lube when claying!

@samtheman32: try and get sufficient protection (sealants/waxes) on the paint once you finish decontaminating it.

It'll help keep contaminants from bonding sooner so long as you make it a point to get stuff like this off your clearcoat in time...

Yeah, every time I see bird poop I wipe it off immediately, I'm guessing the previous owner just let it sit there for a while. Thanks. I'll visit one of the local auto stores and look into their products, any brands you recommend I should look into?

Where in TX? If you run into any trouble I'm in the Dallas area and you're welcome to use whatever I have.

Be safe down there. Hear horror stories. Anyway, what you want to do is grab yourself a clay bar kit (Walmart, or any auto store and the brand doesn't matter) and then pick up some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish. Those are about the best polishes available at stores.

So you want to clay the area first. Spray down the area with the lube in the kit, spray the clay with the lube and rub the clay across the area with some elbow grease. If that doesn't show improvement, it's time to polish wth the compound first, then follow with the polish. Press HARD when polishing by hand.

Unhappy You...

...may have to have that wet sanded and polished.

If it burned the clear coat and etched the base coat you might have to have the fender spot painted.

I've had this issue on many other cars. Most times a wet sand & polish took it out.

When it did not, spot painting was necessary. Bummer, I feel your pain.

Grackle dive bombers reside here every Spring. Good for nothing, but poop.
