Storage Question

Just wanted to get some info on storage. Overseas atm and not projected to return til early march. Is it ok to have my camaro sit that long? Ido have someone back home with access to it if it needs to be run/driven every so often. Thanks in advance.
Oh and FYI, it has already been sitting for 1 1/2 months. Without being ran/driven.

Matt

At the least put a trickle charger on it.

A Battery Tender costs about fifty dollars. I would add StaBil to the gas tank, air the tires to 50 psi, and change the oil and filter.

You don't need do anything to it but keep it locked up.

1. It has battery rundown protection and 5 months or so is nothing.

2. Many state that ethanol only stays "Fresh" for 30 days. You haveing a 2SS/RS, guessing you are running premium, which may still have 10% ethanol, so if you really worry about it, and you should have other things to worry about, then have someone put some stabil-crap in it.

3. Forget the oil change and tires, it is sitting there doing nothing, you can add air when you get home and oil whenever you want.

Relax, the car will be there when you get back.

Best,

Tony

Mine sits in the garage from at least November to March every year. It'll be fine.

What's this? I was thinking to pull my battery as my car will sit for 6 months and there is no electric for a tender.

Mine sat outside in the backyard the last 2 Alaskan winters, from October to April. No tender. No Sta-Bil. She cranked right up when it was time. I did get a new house this winter, with a 3 car garage, and she'll be inside and covered up this winter. But it'll be fine if you just leave it.

Cool thanks for the replies. I was overseas for 4 months after I bought it last year and when I got back the CEL came on. Went off after I drove it a day and assumed it was the gas. I may have someone put some sta bil in it just in case....recommended?

Quick hijack... What kind of pup is in your last picture? Just wondering since I love dogs but horrible at knowing breeds.

The the OP - I think sometimes we over think storage. A few months are nothing anymore. Long storage is different - In the 60's my uncle served in Vietnam for over a year - he came back, hopped in his almost new Corvette, started it up and promptly locked the engine. He didn't bother checking any fluids.
