Another Exhaust Opinion Thread

Alright C5, I recently got bit by the mod bug hard. I just had a Comp Cam, American Racing LT headers w/ high flow cats, and tune done to my 11 SS M6. I still have the stock exhaust from the cat back and it actually sounds decent, but I'd like to eventually upgrade. I have watched a lot of different videos and read posts with similar setups. What cat back exhaust do you all like the most with ARH LT headers?

It all depends on what you like, not what others like. What kind of sound do you want?

It's all based on personal preference... Best bet is to honestly check out some youtube videos see what they sound like, or better yet, go to a local Camaro meet with a decent amount of other guys out there, and see what they're running, listen to it in person... Here's what I've got on youtube that I suggest looking at, as Borla's exhaust videos are always the best to look at:

What do you think of this? Kooks 2.5" Street Sleeper (PT# 6517-Catback)...good sound and no drone.

Exhausts can be music to your ears for some and nails on the chalk board to others. I personally like a low deep exhaust, much like what was posted with the kooks sleeper exhaust. I have heard some that I really like around youtube and the forums, but if I were take the exact same exhaust and add them to my setup the sound is going to be different. Borla, for example, design theirs with a specific setup. If you change the setup it causes the exhaust to sound almost completely different. Compare the atak exhaust from borla. I was just wonding if anyone had run across something that sounded good (to them) with ARHs?

Stock setup around 3:30

With ARH

In that case, you might consider the Borla Touring cat back. With headers it has a nice deep tone that is not too intrusive at idle and normal operating RPMs but get nasty when you stomp on the throttle. Here is a video of that set up on the dyno.

If you want something more aggressive then you might consider the SW Retro Chambered cat back. This one is my personal favorite but I like aggressive exhaust systems. You are going to know it is there.

The SW sound in the clip is pretty much what I would be shooting for. Do you know if that clip is with headers or not? I think it would sound pretty mean with my chopping cam.

That is a customer of ours running 1 7/8 headers with high flow cats and the SW Retro Chambered cat back.
