Camaro SS modded VS cummins diesel
A guy around town is convinced he will beat me in his (claims) 650 Hp crew cab Diesel. Don't know specs besides that it is tuned. My mods listed below. I should be around 490 HP. A know the specs are vague but who do ya'll think would win?

I've seen modded Cummins trucks that are very fast. Is it 4 wheel drive? If so, he's got a strong traction advantage on you.

yes it is. Idk if he would put it in 4 wheel drive on though. Im going to see if he will go to the track. Maybe put a little wager on it
. I think it's a 2008 btw.

A friend of mine with a 4wd CC Duramax ran 11.71 @ 119. Be careful.

At the track is the place to do it, but from a roll would likely be better for you.

Cummin's diesel Rams are fast...especially modded ones. They literally will smoke you if they pass you.

Not much to go on there but rest assured that Turbo Diesels can build over 100 hp and 200 ft/lbs of torque doing just a tune along. It's a lot of weight to get going but most guys that race there truck do so in 4wd to maximize the traction advantage. Unless you have some real good gouge on his mods, I would make it a friendly bet. If you lose, get ready for a good ribbing by the truck guys and of course everyone else that doesn't know how fast these things can be.
And for the record, I got walked at the strip by a Duramax last year. Traction advantage was allhis and he left me at the line like I was in neutral. I was catching hard at the end but ran out of track (1/8th mile raceway). Be warned and informed. Good luck.

Boosted 4wd launches lend to some killer times. Just about every racer I know who drives a diesel 4wd runs it in 4wd at the track. Spool the turbo up to 30psi or so and hang on tight.

For shits and gicks go for it. I say if anything it would be fun and cool for both of you to see. Throw on some good drag tires and you might have a chance....

Now that's an impressive Dodge above...
I would be careful with them, they build power fast, but they also don't gain that much torque in some cases. |
