ECS/RPM Combo - New Best ET

Ok, so only by .01 - but I'll take it

Last trip of the year to Byron Dragway... first pass ran 10.47 @ 133 on a 1.64 60', .01 slower than my previous best. DA was hovering between 0 to -300ft all day.

There was a fast GT500 there; I'd talked to the owner last week... he's running a VMP TVS2300, AFCO heat exchanger w/dual fans, 28" ET Drags, etc. Real nice guy and a hell of a driver... he can really shift that thing. I'd seen him run 10.2x @ 137 last week. His first pass today he ran 10.43 @ 133 to my 10.47 - so the track announcer wanted us to line up for the ol' Ford v. Chevy matchup. Knew he had me covered by 2 tenths but figured what the heck...

Slip posted below - me in the left lane. I ran a 10.45 @ 133.43 to his 10.39 @ 133.59. New best, but not enough... we were side-by-side all the way down the track. Was literally door-to-door at the 1/8 - my 6.765 @ 108 to his 6.760 @ 105, but he ended picked up 28mph+ on the big end to my 25mph+. Beat me by a fender... I'd be lying if I said I didn't consider pulling my passenger seat, draining the tank, filling up with 104, and adding 2* for another shot

Oh well, still had a great time... we ran one more time but I ended up pushing through the beams and redlighting trying to come out harder and take the tree. He ended up running a 10.20 @ 137 later in the day after they prepped/heated the track. For what it was, that car was fast... and I never saw him miss a shift all day (or last week for that matter). Gotta tip your hat to him.

Told him I had a few things planned this winter and hopefully I could make it a little more competitive next year

Yep, was a good time... I asked him how much boost he was running; he said 20-22psi

Had a custom 2.4 pulley on it, but the killer was... it stayed cool!! I was able to rest my hand on the intercooler tank and the blower 10 minutes after the run without it melting; was warm to the touch, but not hot. Apparently that AFCO was really working... I know my old Kenne Bell Corvette would give me exactly 1 pass before it was heat soaked.

Let me know what your gonna do, If anything I'll see how mine goes and then that should give you a good idea. I can only hope to make good runs like yourself sir. I like rowing the gears too much to give it up for an auto. Probably going to have the TR6060 Rebuilt for the power. Maybe they will let me roll race at Atco to the tree until i get the rear end situated as well LOL.
