Anyone with experience with slotted rotors only for SS?

I've read that slotted rotors are helpful with dissipating heat and dust and run a little cooler. They also might have a tendency to be a little weaker rigidity wise since you are relieving unsprung weight from them. I'm wondering who has installed them and what their experience has been with them, ie., brake fade, stopping, dust on wheels, warping, cracking, etc. I'm looking for a something that is utilized for autocross, roadcourses. I've looked at Stoptech and their Sport Brake set and they seem like a good set seeing they are made of cast iron. Any cons about that other than they may be heavier than other types of rotors? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I've got DBA drilled and slotted rotors. I like them, check out the pics on my build or profile page.

Slotted rotors are great for autox. If you are looking to do some road racing as well, I would look into dimpled and slotted rotors. Those will help dissipate heat and help with brake fade. I would recommend to stay away from drilled rotors, as they sometimes have a tendency to crack!

Hi Gunny, first off your car IS badass though the drilled and slotted rotors look and perform great , my concern is with them experiencing cracking from the duress of a road course event. Those DBA's aren't cheap. Thanks for your input.

Thanks pyr0b0y, this is what I'm interested in hearing from those who have bought aftermarket rotors for specifically handling high stress situations like road courses . Do you recommend a specific brand ?

I run the 5000 Series DBA's on my GTO and the 4000 Series on my SRT8, both cars are street/Track cars, they work great!

check out our page, you have to add the parts to your cart to get the real pricing, and if you have any questions feel free to ask, i'm here to help.

Thanks! Yeah I'm just a regular street driver, no road courses, auto-x, or track. Good luck!

on my GTO i was getting 6-8k out of the stock rotors before i needed to machine them, once i installed the DBA's they went about 25-30k before i needed to do anything with them.

I'm very hard on my brakes, and both cars see Track Days (the GTO more so) every year.

Don't forget, the pricing on the rotors will change once they are added to the shipping cart.

Edit, any other questions on the DBA's PM me, i don't want to take over this thread

I have run the DBA with no problems, but like other people stated, they arent cheap!

When I was strapped for cash. I ordered a set of GMS slotted/dimpled rotors for a track day. They actually did great, and had to be turned after after 7 track days. I think that's pretty decent for the price. I still have them on my car a year later.
