Finally ordered HUD!

So for the last few weeks with all the sales going on I have been trying to figure out which higher priced mod I was gonna do, I was seriously leaning towards a backup camera mirror, and then started considering a CAI, and I finally decided on a HUD! Before I even got my car, HUD was on the list of things I wanted but because my Camaro had everything I wanted but a HUD, I decided I would get my Camaro and opt out of the HUD. Even then, it was the number one mod I wanted to do, but I kept stalling because the install looks super intense. But I finally pulled the trigger and ordered it from Ofer! I am gonna do the install in the next month or so during winter break and I can't wait!

I like to think of instals in terms of beverages needed. For example, this might be a 12-pack install.

*Increased beverage numbers can lead to installation errors.

Yes, go to www.gen5diy.com and the whole kit is sold there. The owner of the site is memeber 2SSRS so if you have any questions, you can pm him about them.

You can make the drive up to Lak Havasu and he will do he install for you. I went up and he did my install on 11/18/2012. Took 3.5 to 4 hours.

I bought one too & looking forward to putting it in. It sounds like he sold quite a few this weekend - so I am expecting a few more threads on the subject.

good luck man. I did the install after work one night, took about 6 hours. Just take your time, invite a buddy over, drink a few beers to relax like Apex Paul said. Its not really that bad of an install.

I wouldn't call it aftermarket...more like oem for cars that it didn't come with

I actually looked at your thread, and you did an awesome job! It was one of the many threads I looked at to finalize my decision on getting it. I am planning on doing the install with my brother so hopefully all goes well!

I would love to have one in my 10ss... Just no way I could take the entire dash out cut things out and re-install. Too paranoid about messing my interior up. May just opt for a hurst shifter instead to smooth things out.

Yes, Ofer has OEM GM parts.

I am wondering, do you have to swap out your windshield? Isn't the HUD windshield coated or something?
