Try rubbing alcohol and water or just a good window cleaner should work fine.

I think the key is don't overly work it, just use cloth and glass cleaner, maybe some Dawn. Don't want to make the problem worse with anything harsh.

Even if it doesn't come completely clean now, waxes have oils that evaporate over time. It will likely just clean off and fade away over a short time of a few washings.

Replace all glass. We should have a recall on this one.

Easy guys, just a little Friday attempt at humor with the key word being "attempt"

Acetone works great for anything glass cleaner/isopropyl alcohol won't easily remove, like old inspection sticker/registration tag adhesive. Works fast too, put some on a clean rag or paper towel and you'll be finished in no time.

My daughters use it as finger nail polish remover and it also dissolves super glue too should you ever get any residue on your fingers or to remove excess.

I'd be very leery of using acetone anywhere near a vehicle like this. It is an extremely strong solvent, which dissolves or 'eats into' many plastics and paints! I would dread accidently getting it on certain surfaces of your car. You could end up with a much bigger problem than a smudged windshield. I think there are safer alternatives listed in some of the prior posts.
