Adding CAI and exhaust this week instructions

As the title says im getting the mrt installed by a muffler shop that i have already consulted they said they could do the exhaust. I was wondering if the chevy dealerships install cai or if i cant find anyone to install the CAI by cold air inductions how long would it take and is it very difficult to install ? Take into consideration i am very noobish when it comes to messing with stuff under the hood.

It is so simple that if someone were to actually pay someone to do it, I would laugh. You can obviously use a computer, so I'd be very surprised if you couldn't install a replacement air filter, a box and a tube, particularly if you have the instructions. Just read through the instructions and you'll be done before you know it.

Our installation instructions come with photos, and you can find some installation videos floating around our YouTube Channel. Our CAI is very straight forward and easy to install. Let us know if you have any questions pertaining to the installation, we are always more than happy to help!

Honestly, if you have the most basic set of hand tools, you can install the CAI. It takes longer to get the stock one out than it does to put the new one in. Heck, it takes longer to get it out of the box and lay the parts out than the duration of the installation. All your messing with is a couple large hose clamps, one 10MM nut, and a couple small screws.

If you can make a sandwich, you can handle this

Heck, if you were within 20 minutes of me, I'd drive over personally and help you sort it out...but North Carolina is a bit of a hike, hehe.

You do need a small Allen wrench for the mass airflow sensor. I can't remember if it's in the kit or not. Anyway, you NEED to have an Allen wrench set (metric) anyway, right?

You also gotta remove the MAF sensor... Gotta remove the 2 screws... Hex head I think... Been awhile.... Then unplug it, the transfer to the new cai tube... Then plug it back in... Whew.... It's a lot of work. J/k man... CAI is as easy as pumping gas in the car... Do it yourself.. It's more rewarding that way.

That dealer is crazy if he charges $100 for the installation. Check out this video link.
This ought to help you decide if you can do it.

Holy heck

No way I'd pay $100 for 20 minutes of work.

Lets put it this way. One day I decided to do some upper induction cleaning (intake and throttle body). It took me about 20 minutes to take it all apart, clean it, and then putting it back together. Do note it was my first time ever working on a car. IT IS THAT SIMPLE!
As for installing the CAI, there are written instructions and even videos.

My CAI gave the car a deeper growl I feel. I have read other post with people with the Mrt and CAI and had similar results. Just dont expect your CAI to cause your car to all of the sudden sound like you have a turbo on it which i have seen some say ha... best results i have gotten from mine were better gas mileage and throttle responce

well turns out im going to have to take it to the dealer tommorrow for them to install it. When i had my headlights installed a few months back they used part of the screws on my stock intake as a ground for the relay. I really dont want to mess my lights up since they are soooo nice lol. I got the mrt installed today and it sounds soo good lol been doing a lot of WOT on the way home.
