dimming mirrors question

Are both the drivers and passengers side mirrors supposed to dim at night? I could've sworn both sides do and now my passenger side doesn't. Maybe I'm losing it? Someone please help

I tried to manually dim the rearview mirror by flipping the switch on the back and inadvertantly activated the Onstar emergency call button. Is there a way to shut it off other than explaining to the operator it was a mistake?

I have to readjust my rearview every time my wife drives the Camaro. I've bumped the emergancy button 4-5 times now and I always just immediately hit the "hang-up" button on my steering wheel. They've never called me back.
