Just Installed Injen Long Tube Cold Air Intake

I just installed the injen long tube cold air intake to my car last night. And I don't know what to think yet. Everyone was saying that it will sound like a turbo and have a whistle, but I have yet to hear it. It may be because my exhaust is LOUD but i still feel like i should be able to hear it when I'm giving it throttle in higher gears. Other than that, I feel like there is a difference in throttle response and it gets up and goes better.

CONGRATS......give it time to break in and relearn the new INJEN. Then for the whistle sound roll down the window and accerate half throttle and listen for the whistle.

Just watch out for water. I really wanted the injen but I heard it causes the most hydro lock. And I can't afford to get a whole new engine because of a CAI

I've loved mine for over two years but it's been quite wet lately and I want to install my ACS T2 ports so the Long tube has to go since it will rub on the port. :( That on top of the hydro lock possibility I think I'm going to switch to CAI.

Congrats! You will notice the most sound difference right when you step on the throttle. You will not notice much difference in sound (if any) at slight throttle/normal driving. It will not sound like a turbo (I don't know who told you that) If you have a loud exhaust system, it may just be overpowering the sound from the intake. Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Tyler

I too was a little let down by this intake when i first installed it. I think it was mainly because i had read post where people had made it out to be similar to the sound of a turbo. After several hundred miles I am happy with the intake. I did see increase in MPG's and it is noticable when you step on the gas the increase in air and throttle responce the car is getting. Im in PA and the Hydro sheild was definatly a must with this intake if you get alot of rain.

trifecta?

I am on the fence with a trifecta tune right now. I only have an axleback exhaust and this intake. Would the tune really help anything? What I want is to get more firm shifts while in "M" mode, I would like it to go past 118, rev past 4000 in park or neutral. Will this tune do those things?

Yes it'll do all that. But if you push it past 118 for some time, you run the risk of your tires failing on you. You will get firm shifts but depending on when your car was built, they may not be as firm as say a 2011 car.

I don't have the stock BFG's anymore. I have Hankook Ventus 255/55R18's on the back/ and I believe 235/55R18's on the front.
