Rambling......

As I sit here in eastern Tennessee, snow falling to the ground, I'm thinking about my 2012 2SS sitting in my garage. I have had this car for over a year, and the odometer still reads less than 400 miles. It's not that I think it will be a collector, or that I don't want to drive it, it's just not the most ergonomical option. My wife and I are the parents of two great boys (3 and 7), and have other vehicles that we use when we are together. Generally, we are in a '07 Tahoe, or I also have a '13 Equinox which I purchased for commuting. I have contemplated selling my car, but every time I get behind the wheel, I get that "perma-grin" that everyone speaks of. She is an awesome car. In fact, my boys call it a "pimp ride".........thankfully they haven't asked what pimp means and haven't told anyone at church! I guess in my rambling, the main thing I want to share is that I am grateful for everything that I have. Many times, we see the new (or what we feel better) and envy sets in. Believe me, I have driven a ZL1 and would love to have it, but it's just not the time. For those of you waiting for the "next best thing," just remember, you could be gone tomorrow. Live for the moment, love God, and cherish family.....IMO these are the most important!

Preach it! I can relate in a way. Don't have much time to get behind the wheel of mine as I am always being sent overseas. Over a year since I got mine and only has roughly 8k miles on it. 1500 were from the trip to Louisiana for the cam. It'll be October before I am able to drive it again.

Times with the kids you will never get back....take the Camaro out more and share that with them. I have 2 girls and we love taking the car to sports practice, errands, dinner out, run for ice cream or just a weekend cruise.

We have more practical cars also but pile in cramped or not.....its something they will remember forever.

It took me 2 years of looking for a older used Corvette to drive for the summer and then looking at the new Camaro and not buying. With people I know, and one younger than I am, passing away I decided to finally listen to the words I have always said "you only go around in this world one time you might as well enjoy it while it lasts" So last spring I bought what I could afford, a Camaro 1LT, and have enjoyed it ever since. I was looking for a pickup to drive in the winter but haven't found one affordable and reliable. I know I should have kept my last car but for a 2nd vehicle I wanted a pickup. Since I haven't found one I decided I bought this car to drive and to enjoy and not for it to be parked in the garage.

So if you like the car, listen to the words you wrote as life is short. Get out and start driving it. I know there is not much room in the back seat but it is enough for the kids and they should like riding in it. I know mine is not a practical daily driver and I have a few issues with it being a DD but I love the car and I enjoy being in it. Even as a DD I only manage to put on about 10k to 12k miles per year so I don't spend that much time in it but hey it was meant to be driven and I am driving it like I stole it.

Dean.

+1. You can't bring anything with you. Why pay for something and not be enjoying it? I've had my car for 6 months and put over 14K miles on it. I had my 12' LT and i put about 7K on it in 2 months. One day i'll get a beater to use for work but until then i drive my car every day and am enjoying it. I looked out the window today and am grateful that i have the car and sometimes i can't believe it's mine.
