Exhaust Opinions

So I have narrowed it down to the following. Im positive I wanna run BBK Long Tube Headers and HFC's. I wanna run a X-Pipe but Im not sure what brand to go with. Also Im torn between running either a dynomax ultra flow catback and or a SLP Loudmouth II cat back. I have always loved magnaflow exhaust and I do like there catback system just Im not sure if its loud enough, an i have yet to hear a good audio clip of maganflow on a v6 camaro.

Im just asking for your opinions here. at the moment im leaning towards SLP. Since a member on here recently posted his set up of bbk headers x pipe and slp 2 catback. An I loved it. but Im still very curious about the dynomax.

If you don't want the car to rasp and drone like crazy, I'd look into the magnaflow resonated x pipe part number 11386

That's exactly what it is. The guy argued with me for 5 minutes at the exhaust shop over it. I had asked him to weld in my x-pipe and he told me I didn't have one. I told him, look, whatever you want to call it, just weld it in there.

Must've been having a bad day. Oh well, this piece is essential for a long tube setup. It's absolutely obnoxious without it.

Still have the stock h-pipe here...rasp has gone down quite a bit. Drones like a mother...but I don't want to lose half of my volume either

Custom built J pipes could be an option if you don't want to lose volume

I don't think you'll lose quite that much. I still set off half the alarms in parking garages and when I cold start my car at my apartment complex. Don't think any of my neighbors will be sad to see me go

That's true, just waiting to get my ls3 catback welded to the mrts to see how they sound, my guess will be a tad, louder, while possible adding more rasp and drone

Oh okay sweet! But same here I wish somebody has done it with the headers and V1's before I'd do it to see how it sounds

Edit: first gold bar post

I think there's vids of mine on here somewhere, I'll try to find them. Yours would be even louder than mine with the V1s. It took me a while to warm up to the sound, but it's gotten much better the more miles I've put on the x-pipe. Certainly not as loud, but much more deep and growly. Still loud when you punch it but not that crackly fartcan sound it was before. Personally, I'm willing to take the decibel drop for better quality sound. Like, would you rather listen to Coldplay at full volume or Disturbed at 75%? Of course, everyone likes different exhaust notes, so to each their own on that.

And what do the gold bars mean? I've always wondered.

Best analogy I've ever heard!

Thanks, trust me it IS obnoxiously loud lol

That's a good analogy to compare it too. But since my header install, my exhaust has been settling in, and I've grown to like it I really want to complete my exhaust set up but I don't have the money currently to weld it All correctly. When I do, I'll weld the LS3 exhaust and see how that sounds and will go from there

I think it just your post status/boss level
