horrible luck
Ok so I really need some advice....
I drove down to visit family and today i got a nail lodged into my tire. So since Im not home I had to make a decision.. Get a tire to get me back to MD, or drive it with the nail in it... So I decided to go ahead and buy the tire for my saftey... They did not have the General AS03's in stock so i bought whatever they had in stock... The only one they had in stock was the Velozza STX tire in my size 275/40/20.. I went ahead and bought that and put it on the car so I can get back home tomorrow.. I kept the old tire with the nail in it. I verified the nail had punctured the tire, and it had unfortunately. A guy at the dealership had suggested getting the tire vulcanized? Has anyone heard of this process? Because if this is a fix, it would stop me from buying another G-MAX AS03 tire... In summary I want to know, do I need to buy a new tire AS-03 to match the other tires? Or should I just leave this one on? And the vulcanizing process, if that is an option would it be safe to do? Oh not to mention my G-MAX AS03's didnt even have 9000 miles on them!!!! They were brand new! :( I have 245/45/20s front and 275/40/20 rears.. Thank you

Not a per-say tire expert but on two occasions I've punctured tires in the sidewall and was told the tire 'Could Not' be repaired.

Sorry, that tire is not fixable. The puncture is in the sidewall. Gonna have to pop for a new tire.

Not fixable. Never heard of vulcanization for fixing sidewalls...

I recently broke my talus bone in my right ankle and tore my peronel brevis tendon in my left ankle (required two surgerys)
In addition, I herniating L2-L3 and L4-L5 disks in my back and my surgery is scheduled for March 20th. Thats horrible luck. A nail in a tire does suck and can ruin your day, but its no biggy. |

Sorry man! That stinks! You wouldn't happen to have purchased a road hazard insurance policy??? That would take care of your new tire at least???

The same thing happened to me Friday night. And I was having a great day!
Tire Rack quoted me $278 for a new PZero for the rear. That's the best I can find so far.

mis-match tires should not be a problem since there the same size. As for performance, I would get a matching tire.
