I got some news!

I have been one of the more patient people but was starting to lose it. I was getting very tired of hearing about allocation and people ordering in april already getting their cars, meanwhile I haven't moved and i ordered in February. Not to mention people from further back than me haven't moved including some october people. I mean if you ordered after me and got your car Congrats I'm happy for you. Anyway I emailed my new sales rep and told him i was frustrated, that I was told nothing about aallocation when i preordered and had to find out everything on this site. So anyway this is the email I got today.

"Just talked to my inventory manager and got all the information you are looking for. Your Order will start making the journey from 1100 during the week of 6/25. You are currently 3 down the list and 2 are supposed to move in the time between now and the 25th and then another 3 will start the 25th. from that point it will take a few days to go from 2000 status to 3000 status. From that point it just depends on how fast things move at the plant. There is a scheduled shutdown for 2 weeks in July and we are hoping things will start to move pretty fast from that point. I will keep you informed as I see changes in the system. I check on the status of orders everyday except thursday. Let me know if you have any questions and if there is anything I can do for you Thanks"

Sounds good and accurate except the shutdown is only 1 week. Normally it's two but they're cutting it short just for the Camaro.

It was 2 weeks, but they changed it to 1 week. He probably just doesn't know yet, that's all.

That's pretty bad that your dealer didn't mention that he had no allocations when you ordered. (and that's probably the ONLY reason you don't have your car already) Glad you're on the fast track now!!

No he didn't but otherwise I can't complain. I have a different salesman than when i started and original guy might not have known. They have been good otherwise sent me a custom care package and everything.

Oh and techinically although they didn't mention or explain allocation they did broadly say it might be up to six months till you get your car. They didn't make any false promises but they also didn't fully explain situation to me.

Sorry but not a snowball's chance in hell. The shutdown won't really affect you (other than to get cars ahead of you built sooner so yours can be built sooner). You'll have at least a month after it goes 2000 to even be close to it being built.

Usually when a plant closes, it takes a week to ramp back up once people return. 1wk shutdown means production starts again 2 weeks later.

ie: offline until 07/06 means cars will be built again 07/13

Ok well it's still a week less than what was originally scheduled. They were supposed to be off for 2 weeks and now it's just one.
