Passenger Seat Spacers

So I've got power seats on my side but the passenger side only has the power recliner with no option to raise the seat up. My girlfriend is 5'4" and has trouble seeing out the windshield. So I was thinking of making some spacers to raise the seat up and put under the rails that are mounted on the floorboards. Raise up about an inch or so. I wouldn't want to go much higher because my friend who is 6'3" has about 2.5 inches before his head hits the roof. Just wondering if anyone has done this? I've seen people who have added the motorized seat option, but I'm not interested in paying 700 bucks in parts for that.

And do anybody see a problem with this? I'm concerned about if I got in an accident if the chair would do anything weird? (Would have new longer bolts to go through the rails and spacers into the floor) would I need just small spacers at the bolts or should I do an entire spacer across the rail to prevent warping ?

Let me know what you guys think!

I have a 2010 2LT and it has no adjustment, they added it in later years, I'm not sure which one but I'm sure someone will chime in that knows.

The OP has a 10 the power passenger seat was not an option till 13. But to answer the OPs question I have seen people but spacers in the earlier models and never heard any thing bad about them. I would think you would need longer bolts also.

I've got the 2010 1LT with the rs package added by the dealer when the first owner bought it.

No way to add the option without 2012+ parts I beleive

All 2012 and newer Camaros have a 6 way power passenger seat.

I was going to say upgrading girlfriend to one with a higher stance may be an option but we cant help you because >>
Its your car do what you want but it is our obligation to show you all the options you have.

On a serious note:
I would think putting spacers under the seat would compromise the integrity of the seat, and its job of holding your passenger in place.

Check out this thread.

About 1/2 inch is all you're going to be able to safely raise the seat. And there's some controversy whether that's even safe.

If i upgrade the bolts so there is lots of thread in the mounts, couldn't i go higher? I'm not sure if only half inch would do much.

You might want to read the thread's op again. If you make the spacer too thick, the locating pin next to each bolt would sit outside it's hole and then only 4 things would be holding the seat in place instead of 6. At that point, you've altered the seat's functionality in a crash pretty significantly.
