placed my order!

I have an 11 2ssRS and was waiting for the 14's to be revealed. Now that they have been revealed, I placed my order! I have a 13 2SSRS convertible LS3 on the way! Love the old styling, wasn't feeling the new, wanted orange, just had to go for it! Good news is the build will be quick because they're cranking them out now apparently before the shutdown/retooling for the 14's.

I hate to rain on your parade...but are you SURE your 2013 will be built? I ask because I was in the same predicament last year. I ordered my 2012 on March 29 last year....two days after the cutoff to guarantee it to be built. The sales manager was hoping another order would drop off and mine would back fill the space left. Bottom line was they let me order a 2013 around April 20...just in case my 2012 wasn't built. In the end it worked out well for me because I ended up the the 2013 which was identical except for the dual-mode exhaust, which I added to the 2013 order. Last year, I think May 13 or 14 was the last day for 2012 production. Then retooling took place and June 11 (if I remember correctly) was the first day of production for 2013. Mine was built day one of 2013 production and after QC checks by GM I picked it up from my dealer on July 5.

The bottom line is check with your dealer to make sure it will be built. If there is doubt maybe they'll let you order a 2014 with the agreement that you will take whichever one they get first.

Good luck.

You're totally right but in this case i'm good to go because my dealer and a GM exec are friends of mine so it looks good. I asked that very question before going ahead with it and they have heard back that I should have an order number within a couple of days!

nice- i did iom with iom interior too. these cars are going to be real headturners. I went with manual since I have the auto now and am looking for a little more fun but I have been super happy with my auto too. It shifts way better than i do!
