Leaving my car for an extended time
I work overseas for 7 week rotations and when I'm gone I'll have to keep my new Camaro in a grass/dirt parking lot(no other option). I have a car cover I'll put over it, but I was wondering if there were any other factors to keep into consideration for leaving it for such a long time. Thanks for any advice!

I would get some kind a plastic like 6 mills , under the car and about 2 feet all the way around the car , this will keep weeds from growing under the car
Get some kind a wood blocks and roll the car on top of like 4x12x24 , just to keep the tires above ground . Makeing sure that the plastic will stay where you want it to stay and no kids will play with that . |

Haha I'll lock it for sure! It's in a gated lot with a security guard so no worries about vandalism. Oldfriend, you're saying I should put a sheet of plastic under it and park it on wooden blocks?

Thats what modding is for. If you can't drive it might as well buy her presents. If you plan on leaving it outside, I might think about pulling the battery out and put it on a battery tender so you don't come home to a dead battery.

Be careful with the car cover too if the car is gonna be out in the open and not indoors because i put a cover on mine when i had to go back to afghanistan after r&r and the wind buffeting the cover against the car left a couple minor scuffs, nothing serious that is really noticable unless your looking for it it but still noticable when you know it there.

Keeping tires off the ground is a good idea to avoid flat spotting.
However, it makes it very convenient for thieves to steal your wheels if car is not in your own garage |

I wouldn't worry about flat spotting for 7 weeks. Mine sat for 3 months and was fine, just re-inflate and go.

Can you rent an enclosed storage unit to park the car in? A friends garage maybe? Are these options available to you? Car cover outside is kind of iffy IMO. You want to keep the car covered but wind will move the cover around and could damage your paint. The lesser of two evils I guess.
