Exhaust butterflies

Has anybody found a way to set the butterflies to stay closed at startup? Love the sound overall but it would be nice to have it a tad quieter when starting at at 6am or right next to peoples office windows when I leave for the day.

There does seem to be adjusters on the butterflies themselves.

I'd prefer not to have to open up the mufflers and perform "surgery" on them. Was hoping for a computer controlled solution.

Sorry lethal they dont work that way on the ZL1

they are always OPEN during operation below 2000rpm including idle and startup.

M2W only forces them always open or back to normal operation.

I have been asking M2W for a fully closed solution since I got mine.
they said it is a much requested mode but they dont have a way to do it yet.

Really?? I did not know that, I thought you could either open always, close always or open/close at push of button?

Thanks for the info!

I believe on the Corvette it does. ( might be 100% wrong on the vette dont have one)
the Camaro operates differently and only is able to basically turn the fuse off or on.
fuse off just disables the system to the fully open position where putting the fuse back in returns it to normal only.
thats all the M2W is doing opening and closing that fuse circuit.

They are computer controlled, right? If so I would think there is some programming magic that could alter their behavior.

I know that the physical butterflies are vacuum controlled, but doesn't the computer control when the valves are opened/closed?

Just curious, but what effects would keeping them closed all the time have on the car (besides the exhaust note change)?

yes the wiring diagram shows for sure there is a connection to the ECU.

there is no affect other than quieter exhaust.
it just goes through the muffler instead of through the straight side.

Have the neighbors or office workers complained to you about the start up noise? I did your worrying number when I had my Ducati 999S with the Titanium race pipe on it. Much louder then my ZL1 and I started it up around the same time as you have. Nothing ever happened and I live in an ultra quiet section of the city. If they don't say anything why conform to something you don't have to? It's a ZL1 the exhaust is supposed to be louder than a regular car!

My understanding is that they start open on a cold start, but close at low speeds/idle/when the car warms up, right?

Where I park my car at work is right next to a window for some offices. I've already received a comment from one person.
