Lightbulb LFX air intake manifold manual cleaning DIY

I finally obtained the manual pages to remove and reinstall the LFX air plenum/intake with proper bolt removal/reinstallation order and torque values.

I can't copy the pages for everyone because of copyright issues.

I'm doing this to verify the upper induction cleaning and manually clean out any gunk from my engine's pre catch can days.

Update: The DIY is attached. Thanks for your patience!

UPDATE2: I have been told I included an incorrect torque value for the throttle body and strut tower brace bolts. I'll find the correct values and issue an update.

UPDATE3: torque values corrected for throttle body and strut tower brace

UPDATE4: New home in DIY section

However I was thinking of making a DIY for the procedure.

Would anyone be interested in this?

That's good idea I'm sure many folks would use in future.

If you decide to do this...pm stieger as he has started a diy sticky and the LLT/LFX need more diy. I believe this will be a great diy for people who down the road realize the importance of a catch can and just how dirty the intake gets.

I'll have to delay a week due to torque wrench issues. Sorry.

I'm planning to get a can of deep creep in case I have to do any cleaning when I have the intake off. Any other ideas for what to clean with?

Also any suggestions how to get the cleaner out/off in case I have to shoot some down by the valves?

I saw a YouTube video of a guy actually scraping his valves/valve stems with some tool, but I don't know how you'd keep the big chunks from falling into the cylinder if the valves weren't closed on that particular cylinder.
