Rear Spoiler Issue Question...

When taken to the dealer, do they fix it for ANY Camaro free or does it need the "wear and tear" warranty?. My spoiler has started chipping some paint and I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed. The reason I ask is because I know I got the 6yr extended warranty but they also explained another warranty that covered carpet, seats, paint, tires, etc.(wear and tear) in which I didn't get.....

There is no wear and tear on that one period , that do apply on breaks , tiers and things like that , do not even ask the dealer he WILL turn on you !!!!!!

I would think that would be covered by the 3 year 36000 miles bumper to bumper warranty. Good luck keep us informed.

Depends on how it happened. Gm will cover paint defects but stone chips are a different story

OK thanks guys I just wanted to make sure before I went in the dealer, and blow it by asking these questions lol....My trunk compartment has shown shipping from the spoiler, and I want to get it fixed before it becomes worse.

I think I'll skip adding the lip spoiler.

See post 296 in thread "another paint chip spoiler victim". There is a link to the bulletin. The spolier chipping is a problem and GM has recognized that it needs fixing. I printed it and showed it to the service dept. The key is when GM recognizes a problem and releases a service bulletin then the service persons are all too eager to get things fixed. At least my dealer anyway...American Chevrolet. Cheers!

What constitutes a stone chip? I found my first paint chip on the right quarter panel near one of the seems. It is extremely small. maybe 1 - 2 cm in diameter, but i have had the car less than 3 months so it was pretty upsetting considering how well i take care of it (zainoed since day 1 with upkeep washes every 2 - 3 weeks).

So is that a stone chip?
