Just want a little feedback on my dyno pull

So I finished my LS3 swap after my L99 blew. So I went with a true LS3, swapped in a Comp 296hr cam, Comp 26918 springs and chromoly pushrods, cold air intake, long tube headers, ZL1 mid with no cats and Corsa mufflers. Got the dyno tune done by Ivan at Southwest Speed. Total power was 400 hp and 391 lbs ft of torque through the 6 spd auto at the wheels. The goal was great low end torque and 400hp. Ran the 1/4 today at Albuquerque Dragway and ran 13.34 at 106 mph with a 2.0 60ft on Nitto Invos at 33 psi. Keep in mind that’s at 5600 ft in elevation and DA was at 7200 ft. With at 20 mph headwind. I was pretty happy with that. Your thoughts?

Seems a bit slow even for stock but like you said you do have a couple things working against you with the heavy head wind and elevation. The power number looks a bit low too though. I would have expected that with your mods minus the cam.

If you cut the 60 better came down to sea level and put a converter in it you should be low 12s IMO, your torques up on the dyno and that's more important than the HP. I would expect a little better dyno numbers but the specs on your cam the tune everything matters so much....especially the weather station.

A good thing to look into would be the converter to get it down to the ground earlier, many races are made in the first 60' and some nice trailing arms and toes to help avoid wheel hop and better transfer..... Just a couple thoughts. Lord knows any dyno is just a tuning comparison machine, its adjustments can be dead on to match up to a load bearing mustang dyno or close or not at all. And tuning matters so much from there I would wonder where's the AFR? as screen shots aren't as complete as a person would like and thus print outs, wonder if its tuned right not pulling timing and maximizing the torque curve which looks pretty good compared to stock and that's what moves you.

Headwinds suck, altitude sucks..less power to the engine due to lean air conditions, so your doing good IMO but everything is usually always a work in progress for a old hotrodder..LOL

So just to clairify this dyno pull.... A/F was spot on and timing was perfect throughout the entire pull. Again elevation hurts out here and it was 102 degrees in the shop when we did the tuning. I’m also pushing through an automatic as well. So there goes quite a bit of HP as well. This car really isn’t for drag racing. I road course race more than anything. So the torque matters more to me coming off the apex.

Just curious why you wouldn't stay L99 with VVT if management of the torque curve was so important to you.
