Which mods next?

I have 1k in Birthday money to spend on my car. Car is payed off already so dont say car payment haha. Whats the best bang for my buck for performance or cosmetic? I was thinking 1.4 BMR Springs, Muffler Delete, CAI plus scoop and a hydrocarbon RPI front splitter. Current mods in sig.

Some sort of exhaust mod, whether it's muffler delete, catback, LT/Shorty Headers...whatever.

I was under the impression that out of the exhaust mods, only longtubes add any sort of performance upgrade. So would anything else just be for the note?

Headers are awesome! 1500-2000 for parts and install if you get good headers (1000-1500 for parts). That's including cats if you need them. If you don't subtract ~500 (in my case at least)

If you're just looking for sound, the Borla ATAK catback exhaust is great! Really wakes up the sound if that's all your going for.

Why do people keep insisting on muffler delete when its illegal and any shop worth a crap will not touch it.....( you have to do it yourself)........Just go for headers and high flow cats, and better than stock cats back.......Or wait for a ticket some day to show up in court and have to prove you put the mufflers back on if its too loud or the cop has a brain and see the obvious missing mufflers from the back......That is the law here................. Muffler delete mod rating....0 zero nada zip , and below zero.....Not a mod. Guess there is a reason for mufflers being on all cars...............?
Like other motorists or people being in their houses or any where wanting to not hear loud exhaust. I used to build and drive old chevy hot rods and was pulled over more than once and never ticketed for having loud exhaust, and always had some sort of muffler and even added Monza tips.

What are you all paying for header installs plus a dyno tune? I only got around 1k for all my mods

If you want performance, 1k will not cover american made headers and a dyno tune. If american made or a good overseas set (like Stainless Power) does not matter to you, find a reputable performance shop in your area and they might be able to put together for you. It will be tight though.

My first response was to say long tube headers as well. But since you are in California, Long tube headers are not a good idea, and shorty headers are just not worth the cost per benefit IMO..

That Being said, I suggest getting a quality Cold air intake system (CAI, Roto-Fab or Airaid are good ones) an Elite Engineering catch can (won't help performance, but will keep your engine clean and running strong for years to come) VMAX CNC Ported throttle body and an axle-back exhaust. The exhaust will not do much in terms of HP, but the sound it will make it feel faster and make it sound the way a Camaro should. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions or if you want to price out a package deal. Have a great weekend!

Best regards,

Tyler

A good CAI, roto fab or CAI. Don't do the muffler delete, just makes the car sound loud and crappy. If your ls3 a short throw shifter is always a good investment

CAI, Exhaust maybe, anddddd maybe some cosmetic work might do the trick? There's tons of options for you that you can spend under $1k for, just depends what category you want to spend the money in. Ie Suspension? Exhaust? Performance etc...

Well I was looking into the CAI plus scoop and 1.4 BMR springs but the install plus realignment is 300 so Im debating whether its worth it. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Also Magnaflow Xpipe worth it or no?
